Brave Scots
William Wallace
Often portrayed as a Highland Warrior, William Wallace was a Brave Scot and a true hero. He dedicated his life to expelling the English from Scotland, and set about his mission with great vigour. Consequently, his reputation rose throughout the English forces as a giant of a man. Wallace had many successful battles, but one man was to get in his way – Edward I, King of England. This book looks at Wallace’s most notable battles through to the torturous death inflicted upon him at the command of Edward I.
Robert Bruce
Raised in the English court under the medieval code of chivalry, Robert the Bruce in essence was a Knight. Bruce picked up the mantle to rid Scotland of England, and this book graphically portrays Bruce’s high moments, such as the Battle of Bannockburn, along with the low moments of his struggle. A man of persistence and determination, Bruce suffered many setbacks during his early attempts to be crowned King of Scotland, but his resilience, bravery and some good fortune enabled him to eventually achieve his goal.
